Therapies & Equipment

Advanced rehabilitation, conditioning and reproduction in the Sandhills of North Carolina

Every horse at EQUESTRIA follows a veterinary-directed plan built around their goals, whether that’s returning from injury, managing a chronic condition, or preparing for the season ahead. Specialized equipment under one roof lets us tailor, measure and adjust each program as your horse progresses.

Hydrotherapy & Exercise

AquaPacer Underwater Treadmill

Walking in water builds strength and fitness while buoyancy takes load off joints, tendons and hooves. Water depth and speed are set to each horse’s stage of recovery.

Often used for: tendon and ligament rehab, post-surgical recovery, topline and cardiovascular conditioning, and low-impact exercise for senior horses.

ECB Cold Saltwater Leg Spa

Chilled, aerated saltwater hydrotherapy for the lower limbs, designed to help manage inflammation and support soft-tissue recovery.

Often used for: lower-leg injuries, hoof and soft-tissue conditions, and post-exercise recovery.

HorseGym Treadmill

Controlled exercise on a consistent, even surface, with pace and duration set precisely as part of a progressive program.

Often used for: gradual return to work, conditioning, and monitored exercise during rehab.

Hot Walker

Steady, controlled walking at a set pace, ideal for the early stages of rehab or keeping horses moving on days off from riding.

Often used for: controlled hand-walking programs, cool-downs after work, and daily movement for stall-rest horses as they’re cleared to walk.

Therapeutic Modalities

Shockwave Therapy (PulseVet)

High-energy acoustic waves applied under veterinary direction to stimulate healing in tendons, ligaments and bone.

Often used for: suspensory and tendon injuries, back and joint discomfort, and slow-healing conditions.

Red Light Laser Therapy (Sound Smart RLT)

Light therapy (photobiomodulation) to support tissue healing and help manage pain and inflammation.

Often used for: soft-tissue injuries, wound healing, and joint and back soreness.

PEMF Therapy (MagnaWave)

Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy that promotes circulation and muscle relaxation.

Often used for: muscle soreness, recovery after work, and comfort for senior horses.

Therapeutic Ultrasound & TENS

Low-frequency ultrasound and electrical stimulation to support soft-tissue healing and help manage pain.

Recovery & Comfort

Theraplate

A built-in vibration platform that boosts circulation and relaxes muscles.

Often used for: warming up before exercise, recovery after work, and comfort for senior and stall-confined horses.

Solarium

Built-in infrared heat lamps that warm muscles before work and help horses dry and relax after bathing or hydrotherapy.

Often used for: pre-exercise warm-up, drying after the leg spa or AquaPacer, and keeping horses comfortable in cooler weather.

Diagnostic Imaging

On-Site Digital Radiography (Sound DR)

Digital X-ray on the property lets your veterinary team check progress without shipping your horse elsewhere.

Return to Work

200 × 400 ft Arena: Room for Four Dressage Courts

Our arena is big enough to hold four full-size dressage courts, so horses have plenty of room to move through every stage of their return to work, from walking under saddle to full flatwork and jumping. It’s set up with a regulation 20×60 dressage court and a full jump course, so horses can rebuild fitness, balance and confidence in a real competition setting before they go home.

Often used for: final-phase rehab, conditioning, pre-season tune-ups, and riding during winter stays.
